Digesta® Alpha helps prevent symptoms of lactose intolerance (including gas, bloating, cramping and diarrhea). It contains a digestive enzyme/lactase to assist in the digestion of foods containing lactose (e.g. non-fermented dairy foods). |

Digesta® Alpha also helps reduce gas production/flatulence following meals rich in fermentable carbohydrates (in vegetables, pulses/legumes/beans, and whole grains). It helps prevent gastrointestinal intolerance caused by the fermentation of oligosaccharides and fermentable carbohydrates.

Digesta® Alpha has the following 5 digestive enzymes to help digest fat, carbohydrates & dairy products.

Alpha-amylase – 11,000 FCC DU (53.7 mg)

Alpha-galactosidase – 150 FCC GaIU (1.0 mg)

Cellulase – 600 FCC CU (2.1 mg)

Lactase – 5,000 FCC ALU (50.2 mg)

Lipase – 80 FCU LU (0.6 mg)

Alpha-amylase: Aids in the digestion of starches

Alpha-galactosidase: Aids in the digestion of non-starch complex carbohydrates that are present in vegetables such as asparagus, broccoli, beans, carrots etc.

Cellulase: Breaks down indigestible cellulose in vegetables and fruits

Lactase: Breaks down lactose found in dairy products

Lipase: Aids in the digestion of fats and oils

Take 2 capsules with first bite of food/meals up to 3 times a day.

Take Digesta® Alpha right before every meal, particularly with problem foods. Digesta® Alpha starts to work within 15 minutes.

There is no information to indicate that Digesta® Alpha is unsafe for use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. However, because Digesta Alpha has not been tested on pregnant women, it is recommended that you consult a Healthcare Practitioner before taking Digesta Alpha.

Digesta Alpha has not been tested in children. Consult your Healthcare Practitioner for use in children.

Yes, Digesta® Alpha capsules can be opened and sprinkled onto food or dissolved in any beverage of your choice.

Heat can inactivate the enzymes so avoid cooking with Digesta® Alpha.

Digesta® Alpha is designed to prevent food intolerance and gas in adults. There is no data on persons with different clinical conditions. If you have any disease or are taking medications ask your health care practitioner prior to use. Allergic responses to enzymes can occur in patients hypersensitive to these enzymes. Discontinue use and speak to your healthcare practitioner if you experience any side effects after taking it.

Enzymes act only in the intestines and are not absorbed. They are unlikely to influence the course of diabetes. However, better absorption of carbohydrates may increase blood sugar. Since we have no special data on diabetics we recommend that diabetics consult their healthcare practitioner before using Digesta® Alpha.

We recommend that persons with medical conditions consult their healthcare practitioner before taking Digesta® Alpha.

We have not tested Digesta Alpha with drugs. Speak to your Healthcare Practitioner before taking Digesta Alpha if there are any concerns.

Digesta Alpha should be stored in a cool dry place.

Digesta Alpha capsules are vegetable gelatin based and are ideal for vegans, vegetarians and diets that restrict the consumption of pork and bovine.

The level of effective enzyme activity can only be assured up to the expiration date printed on the package. Beyond the expiration date, the level of enzyme activity may be less than the amount claimed and Digesta Alpha may not be as effective as it is within the freshness period.

As a multi-enzyme preparation Digesta Alpha provides superior effectiveness compared to single-enzyme preparations.
